VLN Langstreckenmeisterschaft

Race 10 - 30.10.2010
35. DMV Münsterlandpokal

On the 30th of October Jacos Paddock participated at the last run of the season 2010 of the Langstrecken Meisterschaft Nurburgring, the 35th DMV Münsterlandpokal, also known as the “Schinkenrennen” (ham race).

The team of Jacos Paddock started with the no. 493 as usually, a BMW M3 E46 in the class V6, close to production-line, with the drivers Lorenzo Rocco (IT), Teofilo Masera (IT) and Didier Denat (CH).

On Friday evening the drivers and the team were invited for a dinner at Club 27 in the Eifeldorf, where the drivers had signed a new contract for the season 2011 with the team boss Jaco Velders before. This was celebrated with a lot of champagne.

Saturday morning Didier Denat could place the car in 5th position in the class in the starting grid with a lap time of 10:02.684, after the training had been delayed half an hour at the beginning, due to an accident at the area of “Bergwerk”.

Lorenzo Rocco did the starting run and could fight his way up to third rank in class. After a flawless change of the driver, Didier Denat went out on the track and was even in first position in-between, but fell back again to the third position.

Teofilo Masera did the last turn. Unfortunately he could not keep the car in third position and the race ended, despite the quick change of tires due to the beginning rain, in fourth position in the class.

In the evening the team and the two drivers Lorenzo Rocco and Didier Denat once again went to the start at the karttrack of the Nurburgring in order to finish off the season 2010 in a social party.

The winter break has now started, but the preparations
for the season 2011 have already begun.
