VLN Langstreckenmeisterschaft

Race 4 – 12th of June 2010
41. Adenauer
ADAC Rundstrecken-Trophy

Almost four weeks after the 24h-race the next run for championship points of the VLN Langstreckenmeisterschaft took place. This time the drivers Lorenzo Rocco and Christina Holley participated for the team of Jaco‘s Paddock.

The fast racing-amazon, from the british channel island Jersey, did her first laps on the Nordschleife, on friday, in the BMW M3. She quickly got used to the car and achieved constant fast laptimes.

For qualifying Lorenzo Rocco and Christina Holley went out on the softer Hankook tires in order to gain a satisfying lap time directly from the beginning. At the end of the chase for a good position in the starting grid the BMW could place 9th in the class V6 and 168th in the overall ranking.

Lorenzo Rocco lined up for the starting turn, in sunny conditions, and fought his way up in the rankings during the first laps.

The Italian driver passed the car on to Christina Holley without any problems. She drove very routinely and managed to improve her lap times.

Then Lorenzo Rocco took over the car for the last turn, trying to attack once more. The plan seemed to work out, but right before the end the capricious Eifelweather showed again. Strong wind and dark clouds signalizing the upcoming rain, which then came pouring down very quickly, causing chaos among the teams in the pitlane. Lorenzo Rocco also came in once again to pick up his rain tires for the last lap.

In the end 6th place in class and 73rd in the overall ranking was achieved. Drivers and teamboss Jaco Velders were content with the whole performance of the team, which can be build upon, in order to make futher steps forward in the future.

In 14 days the team of Jaco‘s Paddock will already participate in the next event. Then it will be all about the chase for championship points in the third run of the RCN circuit challenge. After the mixed start of the season Patrick Zufelde and Jaco Velders want to score important points.
