VLN Langstreckenmeisterschaft

Lauf 7 - 31.07.2010
6h ADAC Ruhr-Pokal-Rennen

Four weeks after the participation at the 50. ADAC Reinoldus-Langstrecken-
rennen, Jacos Paddock started at the 6h ADAC Ruhr-Pokal-Rennen, the highlight of the season of the Lang-
strecken Meisterschaft Nürburgring.

The team of Jacos Paddock participated with two BMW M3 E46. The regular car with the no. 493 started in the class V6, close to production-line, as usually with the drivers Lorenzo Rocco (IT), Teofilo Masera(IT) und Didier Denat(CH).

Whereas the second car with the no.183 was graded in the class SP6, the specials. On this car the drivertrio consisted of Christina Holley(GB), Rene Steurer(D) and the new driver in the team Andreas Winkler(D).

The respective starting run was performed by Rene Steurer on the car with the no. 183 and Didier Denat on the car with the no. 493 in cloudy but dry conditions.

At the beginning everything was running flawless, but at 01:13 pm the box received the message, that the car with the no. 493 was standing in the Hohenrain-chicane. The car managed to return to the pits shortly afterwards and a broken clutch was assessed. It was exchanged in the box as fast as possible, so the car could return to the track shortly after 05:00 pm. The no. 493 was able to finish the race, but it was outside the ranking.

The no. 183 had a few shocking moments, after Andreas Winkler was jostled by one of the leading cars at Ex-Mühle, he spun. Nevertheless it was no problem for him to bring the car back under control again and continue driving.

In the last round Christina Holley, the fast lady from the Isle of Jersey, was heckled by 3 other cars at Pflanzgarten. Despite the damages, she could finish the race in sixth position in the class SP6.

On the 28th of August the team of Jacos Paddock will participate at the next run of the championship RCN Rundstreckenchallenge. After two podiums in a row, it is going to be very exciting, if Patrick Zufelde and Jaco Velders will reach the podium again and if yes, which position it will be.
